Gamers Lounge ep. 112 – Preview of First Law: Override

Gamers Lounge Episode 112 is a game preview for First Law: Override. In this episode Bill is joined by the co-creators of this new campaign style skirmish game to  discuss the game, the design process, and their future plans.

First Law: Override is an in-development campaign style skirmish game. It’s built in a futuristic setting and uses an open source approach to choosing models for the game. The developers are very open about their development process and run their current play test as a full-open-testing environment.  Gamers Lounge ep. 111 – It’s a Palindrome

Gamers Lounge Episode 111 has a couple firsts involved in it. This is the first time Mrs. Gamers Lounge has shown up on the show in 2 segments. Also, we’re launching a new segment, so the first time we’ll be diving into the regular Wrath of Kings segment with introductions.

After Bill provides a bit of an intro we dive into the first segment. Mrs. Gamers Lounge and I sit down and talk about the newly arrived kickstarter game, Exploding Kittens. It’s a pretty short review but I think we cover the game well.

Segment two has a new crew of guest hosts joining Bill for the launch of the new Wrath of King’s segment. This segment is as yet unnamed, but will be a regularly occurring segment covering Wrath of Kings tactics and game play. We start in this episode by introducing ourselves and what armies we play for WOK.

And the last segment of the show has Bill and Mrs. GL return to talk about another game. This time they have a much longer game session discussion and full review of Super Dungeon Explore – Arcade. This is the cooperative version of SDE where the game has it’s own AI in place of a console.

 Gamers Lounge Ep 110 – Proxy your Alpha Gamer

Gamers Lounge 110 comes sneaking into the feed, late and embarrassed but is going to act like it showed up on time. Bill opens with the obligatory introduction before turning the show over to it’s normal flow.

The first segment has Bill and John joined by local gamer and friend Dan. Dan gives a bit of his background then the three jump into a discussion about proxying. Specifically we talk about proxying in non-GW games, and skirmish and character driven games.

Our second segment is a discussion of that lovely chap who tends to introduce you to new games, the Alpha Gamer in your group. We define an alpha gamer and then talk a bit about the whole concept.

 Gamers Lounge Ep 109 – Oh Wow is the new Awesome

Gamers Lounge 109 is here with guests and lots of rambling! We open the show with a quick introduction before friend of the show Spencer joins us. Spencer and Bill ramble through a long discussion on a variety of topics. This includes having a primary game vs not, blood bowl, Warmachine competitiveness, and Guild Ball.

Following that the Family Gaming Segment returns with a host of games. We still talk primarily Zombicide but now we add in Machi Koro and Star Wars Armada. Somewhere along the way Bill’s oldest daughter wanders in and we have some minor family gaming drama before returning to regularly scheduled Zombicide discussion.

Gamers Lounge ep. 108 – We have Guests

Gamers Lounge 108 brings a mix of guests to the show, joining Bill for a variety of conversation, philosophy, and spoilers!

We start with the guys from Anvil-8 (makers of Aetherium) Aetherium, Brian and Chris. The guys share their thoughts on the kickstarter experience, game development, and also some inside information on their game and upcoming factions.

Following that, Joe from Cheated Fates Radio join’s Bill in studio for a chat. Joe and Bill ramble as they are wont to do, then delve into some fairly crazy philosophy on gaming and competitiveness. Brace yourselves.
