We were all told while growing up that if you did not have anything nice to say, keep your damn mouth shut. Perhaps your childhoods were not as rough as mine so you heard it a bit nicer, but the sentiment is there. Funny enough, I did not really learn that lesson well, and thank god I didn’t, because that would make for a boring podcast.

What I did learn well was to heed warnings when they are sent. The recent NDA violation email I received from EricJ over my Dead Tau Project blog post was a warning that I am heeding. This is one reason I am taking a hiatus from podcasting, but only one reason.

At this point it has been approximately 3 weeks since I got in a game of Malifaux. My personal schedule has been crazy with a couple trips recently which have kept me from playing. In addition, my local reliable play group has pretty much stopped playing Malifaux Classic. Dan and Mike had stopped playing regularly a while ago, but the current Wyrd activities has much of the group tightly tied up in secret no-talk stuff.

Then there is the host situation. As noted on the Facebook page, Dan and Mike have stepped away from the microphone and I need to figure out what to do next. This was a fairly mutual decision, as should not be much of a surprise based on recent feedback. Mike and Dan were great co-hosts and they will be missed.

So, no games, no hosts, no topics I can discuss currently. That makes it tough to put out a podcast at this point. At this point Gamers Lounge is not dead, but I make no promises. I currently plan to look closely at the Public Malifaux 2.0 files when they are released during for the public beta. Following that look I am very likely to do a show to talk about my thoughts on them. I will not make promises at this point, but that’s my thoughts this weekend.

I am not sure what the future will hold, but keep your subscriptions live and check back every couple of weeks to see if something is posted.

Episode 76 has Joe of Cheated Fates podcast fame joining Bill in a pre-Adepticon episode. We open up with the traditional Gamers Lounge lounge talk and cover a host of items such as recent games we have both been playing.

Following that we dive into a great discussion of our predictions on Adepticon this year, and what we expect to see at the Adepticon Masters event. After much love fest chatter between Bill and Joe, Joe takes over the topic and steers us onto a discussion of the US Malifaux competitive scene. As usual, this goes sideways because it is the Gamers Lounge.

The promised Yan Lo and Izamu discussion actually transferred onto Cheated Fates episode 12, which should also be out before Adepticon! Joe and Bill convened over there to have that discussion and to cover a lot of other items such as Negative Play Experience’s and the balance vs cost of models. Episode 72 is what you get when Dan is in charge of the show. Its Tuesday here and the studio is quickly making its way into the cardboard box where it sleeps during conventions. Thats right, Gamers Lounge will be homeless for the next couple days. Sometime guest eChris and I are headed to Chicago for Adepticon tomorrow (Wednesday). Gamers Lounge returns with the first episode of 2012. Despite a crazy and frustrating January we jump back in with a number of segments recorded during the month. Brian and Bill get together to open the show and attempt to increase the level of “Professional Podcasting” with their opening. After failing miserably there, the show continues with some exciting segments. Yes, fearless listener, the Content line up and title do not lie. Neverata is ACTUALLY back again to talk about the UK Masters.

Not to worry, both have been cleaned off. I have reloaded and re-patched WordPress and as you can tell I have changed themes. This should remedy the issues. I am also doing some work on a server move, so more changes will be coming through January.
