Gamers Lounge Episode 60 – GECON, GENcon, Gencon

The boys are back to talk about Gencon. In this episode we open with a group Lounge Talk, including Slaz, Skill-less Brian, and Hosts Bill, Dan, and Mike.  We follow-up Lounge Talk with two segements of Gencon, reviewing our visit and the games we found. This is followed up by a discussion between Bill and Mythicfox about his visit from the UK to Gencon. Then we close-out with call-outs to our favorite Malifaux podcasts. Its a long episode, but should be fun!

    Great show, glad to hear everyone had a mostly good time at Gencon. For Dan and Bill, Smash Up is for up to eight players if you have 2 copies, just don’t let anyone take ninja-ninjas and your fine, my group has done it a couple of times and I would recommend some dice or tokens to keep track of whose pile is whose but other than that it works fine. It was great meeting Bill at the Puppet Wars Drafts, I had a blast, I think your not entirely correct about how competitive it is, in my area there aren’t a lot of people playing because of cost, but they are looking forward to the new plastics so they can get those. Finally with the time limit on the tournament rounds, I played in the first through the breach story tournament on Thursday and I don’t know if the one hour limit was the problem, but starting the time immediately after announcing what table everyone was at did hurt, adding maybe 10 minutes in between rounds to set up and select crews would definitely help.

       Thanks! It was great to meet you as well, its a lot of fun to tie together the names that show up in a variety of places on the internet to real people.

      I will be interested to see how much competition interest there is for PW over the next year. With the new set coming out sometime (this year we hope) I expect to see a jump in interest for the game.
