Gamers Lounge Episode 57 – Gratuitous

Episode 57 is named for a comment made after the recording about the last 5 seconds of the long episode. That’s right, that’s how we roll!

So, we kick off with Lounge Talk, covering two weeks of Tuesday Main Events (TME’s), Two recent tournament Bill attended, Mike’s struggles vs Avatar Ramos, and Dust?!?. Segment 1 follows up the invigorating Lounge Talk by shifting to a reliable segment Gamers Lounge has explored form the start, Sportsmanship. Dan talks about his struggles recently around this issues while Mike and Bill chime in. In the return of the M&SU Bar we discuss a topic brought to us from the Rapid Fire Segment. We revisit our Book 3 review and see if our estimation of who “Won” the book still holds true. The episode extends into a long episode as we pass the 2 hour mark with the introduction to the new Rapid Fire Segment. This is followed by Rapid Fire #2, and then we close out the show.

Hope you enjoy!

Great show, all. Love hearing your opinions on book 3 now that it’s been out for a while. Sad to hear your nobody was a fan of the Latigo Pistoleros, I love mine. Also the topic of sportsmanship was nice to hear your thoughts on, I’m always interested in peoples opinions on the subject. I have a hyper competitive friend named Kevin and we have to explain to people at conventions there are there are 2 different Kevin’s there’s everyday Kevin and tournament Kevin. I’ve had several very fun enjoyable games against Kevin, none of them were in tournaments.

Thanks for listening!  I have to admit I have yet to see the Latigo Pistoleros on the table, so it could be the same situation we ran into with the Drowned where they read so terrible yet actually perform pretty well.  But I just don’t see it.  Great that someone else is though.

It will be interesting to help Dan through his Sportsmanship journey.  I was playing him yesterday – he’s trying out Marcus and I’m using my new Guild – and I could see him visibly working to hold his disappointment in check.  Don’t want to give him a bad name though – he’s actually a really fun opponent most times.

fyi; collodi cannot use the arcane effigy to cast filled with stones twice; can’t combine specific AP.

I’ll see if I can get a puppet wars event in, should be easy enough; only have a few things to do. Altough really looking forward to the 25 point event tough.

Hmm… good call on the Arcane Effigy.  I think Bill’s groaning a little with that one.

Thanks for listening and hope you enjoy GenCon.

yeah, it is really weird as the combine to channel means you are combining the AP (and it kinda sorta really reads like specific AP)

But filled with stones is broken by castin expert, and the rules are much easier there.

Gencon will be fun, it always is.

Signed up for thursday event; that might suck due to willcall but we’ll see. hopefully this year won’t be as bad. Atleast me other stuff was mailed.

Conduct Aether does not give you a specific AP. It gives you a general AP that is restricted to only Cast and Channel Actions. This means it can be combined with other general AP (be they from fast or the model’s normal AP) but cannot be used with Casting Expert/ Master (as these are specific AP).
